What are self-supporting activities?

A sound fiscal policy is to have all events to be self-supporting. This means that expenses cannot exceed the amount raised through sponsorships and grants. If events are self-supporting and not reliant on the Main Street program’s operational budget, they can survive any fluctuation in that operational budget.
