A treasured institution of the Souderton community suffered a devistating fire on the night of June 19. Mayor John Reynolds eloquently spoke of the affects of the fire as well as the community response. He has graciously allowed us to post his letter to the editors of the local papers. He said it all.
Another local resident, Staci Landis, captured the fire in photographs, which she posted on her blog. Not only do her photos capture the strange beauty of the fire and the hard work of the firemen but her comments on the blog talk about the heroism of the first responders. She has graciously allowed us to link to them.

Souderton-Telford Main Streets has a summer intern, Rudy Flores, working on a Parking Management Study. He is coming up from Philadelphia to work on this project.
Consequently, he needs some local volunteers to help with counting vehicles in parking lots. If you know of any students looking for community service hours, we can put them to good use, and they will learn a lot about the town in the process.

The new parking lot on Main Street in Souderton will be closed from July 2 to July 14 for final paving and detail work.
While it is closed, the Borough forces will complete the parking lot entrance with the streetscape design of granite block pavers and asphalt pavers. The granite pavers are set in a bed of concrete which must cure for a week prior to withstand vehicular traffic.
We know this will be an inconvienience to the business community, but this will be the quickest way to finally complete this project!
