Meetings
The Promotion Committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. When necessary to plan for a major event, such as the Souderton Holiday Parade, meetings may be held more frequently. All meetings are held at the STMS Office. Check the calendar for exact dates.
Mission
According to the National Main Street, the Promotion Committee sells the image and promise of Main Street to all prospects. By marketing the each downtown's unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, and visitors, an effective promotion strategy forges a positive image through advertising, retail promotional activity, special events, and marketing campaigns carried out by local volunteers.
The job of the Promotion Committee is to PROMOTE the downtowns as the center of commerce, culture and community life for residents and visitors alike.
Some of the projects of the Souderton-Telford Main Streets include the Souderton Holiday Parade, the Indian Valley Farmer's Market in Telford, encouraging spectators of the annual Soapbox Derby and the Univest Bike Race to shop and enjoy downtown and to publish the directory of the businesses in both boroughs.
Promotion Committee volunteers enjoy creating excitement and producing results. They enjoy rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done. From planning to project implementation, this crew has fun! Join us as we share our enthusiasm for downtown life with the local community.
Other CommitteesOur Main Streets program is modeled after the National Main Streets program’s four-point approach, wherein the work of the revitalization program falls under one of four points:
- Organization
- Design
- Economic Restructuring
- Promotion
